Mentorship Frequently Asked Questions

  • This program is inclusive of all members of the farmed animal protection movement, from volunteers to leadership. It is open to all locations, and individuals.

    All participants will be held to a code of conduct and commit to treating each other with respect and safety.

  • Mentors should expect to commit to at least 10 hours for the entire program. 2 - 3 hours for the application, interview, and mentor training. 6 - 8 hours for the monthly meetings and any prep or action items.

    Mentees should expect about the same. 2 hours for the application, and mentee orientation. 6 - 8 hours for the monthly meetings and any prep or action items.

    We ask everyone to participate in the post-program survey so we can improve the program for the next installment. This should take 10 - 20 minutes.

    There will be optional peer groups and networking activities but they are not required.

  • Mentor Orientation & Training: Thursday, June 23. The exact time will be announced soon.

    Mentee Orientation & Training: Thursday, June 23, 11 AM PDT/2 PM EDT

    If you can’t attend the live session please watch the recording before meeting with your match!

  • Each pair will come up with a plan that best suits them. The mentee is typically responsible for setting up the schedule and creating an agenda for each session. If you feel stuck and don’t know what to talk about, we provide optional exercises and icebreakers to get you going!

  • No! Your time and enthusiasm are all that are required

  • Until we get the funds and technology to create a formal system, we are matching the old fashioned way, using your applications and mentor interviews. Please be as detailed as possible in your responses!
