Mentorship Code of Conduct

Golden rule: As a participant in this program you commit to treating others with respect, honoring our differences, and being part of a safe and inclusive community.

Anti-harassment policy: Members of the Farmed Animal Advocate Mentorship Program do not harass, discriminate, abuse, or retaliate.

If a member is reported or found to have engaged in harassing, threatening, inappropriate, or unsafe behavior, we retain the right to take any actions reasonable or necessary to keep the community a safe and welcoming environment for all. This includes, but is not limited to, expulsion from the program

No policy can fully list all forms of harassment. Reports will be handled on a case-by-case basis. If required, situations will be reviewed by a 3-person committee.

We understand that

Mentorship is a balance between a personal and professional relationship. Some topics and issues covered may, by their nature, include exposure to controversial, provocative, and challenging ideas. We encourage pairs to discuss and honor boundaries.

Keep in mind

Mentors should be particularly aware of the power dynamics that may exist between themselves and their mentee and should take special care to be mindful of this so everyone is treated respectfully. Be thoughtful of your mentees cultural and demographic differences and how you can best support them in this partnership.

How to report

Anyone who believes they have witnessed or been subjected to harassment or discrimination should report it immediately to Amanda@leadforfarmedanimals.com or with this anonymous form.

If at any time you feel unsafe or unsure about your matching please contact Amanda Cramer at Amanda@leadforfarmedanimals.com

This is a living document and will be updated as needed.
